Easter Monday

Dear brothers and sisters, Christ Jesus makes us sing with the psalm: "You cannot abandon me to death or let your friend see corruption. You teach me the way of life: before your face, overflowing with joy!" Psalm 15
Yes, Christ Jesus went through the agonies of his passion, he went through the darkness of death, and he draws us into his praise. Christ draws us into his thanksgiving and his trust in the unfailing and loving presence of the Father, in his infinite confidence in the help and power of the Holy Spirit.
On the cross, at the dreadful moment of his passage, from his bruised humanity his cry burst forth: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? This cry is our cry in the face of everything that bruises our humanity, everything that bruises our faith, everything that makes our hope waver. And yet, from the very depths of his spirit, Jesus said this other word: "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit!
"Yes, you cannot abandon me to death! Christ Jesus bears this cry of hope for all humanity. It was in this infinite trust that Christ Jesus was raised from the dead.
It is now in the light of his love and resurrection that Christ comes to meet us, just as he came to meet the holy women in the first light of Easter morning. He comes to meet us with his greeting of peace; he comes not to judge, but to save. He gives us his breath, the breath with which we grasp him, to announce to the whole world: He is alive, it's him, we see him! In the depths of our hearts, in the breath of his Spirit, he says to us: "It's me, don't be afraid, I'm the one who lives forever, the one who gave his life for you.
This is the mystery of the Church, the body of Christ. This Church, the body of Christ that we form, which is the wounded, bruised body, and which is the healed, reconciled, resurrected body. It is the mystery of the body of the humanity he embraced, a humanity so imperfect and yet so loved. Humanity assumed in this infinite grace that anticipates us so that we can enter into his mystery of life, and follow him in the works of his grace.
Yes, Christ Jesus invites us and draws us into his confidence: "He is at my right hand; I am steadfast. Even my flesh will rest in hope: you cannot abandon me to Sheol, nor can you allow your faithful one to see corruption. You have taught me the ways of life; your presence will fill me with joy.
His presence is there, taking on our weakness and leading us in infinite trust along his path of love and life.
