Our priority projects
- Restoration of the cloister and abbey complex
Restoration of the medieval cloister and 19th-century ensemble
Our monastic community lives its daily life in a complex of buildings from different periods, built in the Middle Ages and in the 19th century.e century after the refoundation of our abbey in 1869.
The state of conservation of some of the buildings is now a cause for concern. We have problems with water seepage in several galleries of the medieval cloister (12th century).e century), and some parts of the XIXe century. The 19th-century buildingse There are also structural problems, particularly on one of the buildings housing the brothers' cells.
There is an urgent need to remedy this worrying situation.
- Renovating the Sainte-Croix chapel
The monastic community is currently renovating the Sainte-Croix chapellocated at 2e level with the monastery tower. This chapel was consecrated in 1392 and has not been used for worship since 1788.
As part of the general restoration of the monastery tower, the community wanted to restore this place to its original vocation as a place of prayer and liturgical celebrations. In addition to contemporary liturgical furnishings (altar, ambo, stalls), the tower-monastery chapel will house a tapestry and eleven stained-glass windows designed by internationally renowned artist Vera Molnár.
